Exchange Parent Aide is a supportive and educational in-home service program for parents and caregivers with children ages 0-17. The program is designed to increase safety and reduce risk factors associated with child abuse and neglect.
Families and caregivers will be provided with individualized support, including:
  • Assessment of family needs and dynamics
  • Problem solving and coping skills
  • Observing and modeling effective parenting
  • Education on child development and safety
  • Reduction of parental stressors and risk factors
  • Connection to community resources to meet basic needs
  • Connection to medical, dental, and mental health needs
Parenting support groups are also provided to the parents to help the family develop social supports and connect with other parents.

Parent Aides will work around family’s availability by providing services evenings and weekends and a 24/7 on-call system.

Referrals: Families currently involved in DCP&P and living in Ocean, Monmouth and Mercer counties are eligible for program services. Referrals accepted by self-referral, community partners, and other services providers.
